About Spinnaker Watches
Spinnaker is a brand born out of a man’s love for adventure, the blue seas, diving, and chasing the horizon across the endless waves. The name itself– ‘spinnaker’– comes from a specific type of sail on a racing boat. Designed to sportsman perfection, Spinnaker took inspiration from many ultra-high end diving watchmakers and finished it off with their own unique spin, resulting in a recognizable yet timeless, elegant look.
The Quality of Spinnaker Watches
Spinnaker makes their watches in Hong Kong, and unlike a lot of other smaller watchmaker brands, they own their production facility, thus being able to have total control over the quality of their timepieces. As a result, it is safe to say that Spinnaker makes some of the best affordable dive watches on the market.
Spinnaker Movement and Materials
Most Spinnaker watches come with a reliable Japanese automatic movement (NH35 Automatic caliber provided by Seiko), providing a substantial 41 hour power reserve. A few of their models also come in quartz (Japan VK73 TMI Meca-Quartz).
Spinnaker uses scratch-resistant sapphire crystal ensuring no glare or distortion.
As far as the bands go, choose between a stainless steel bracelet, leather, nylon, or rubber to suit your needs. We recommend a stainless steel bracelet for the most well-rounded use, or a rubber strap if you are more inclined to use your watch while being active.
Takeaway: Is Spinnaker Worth the Money?
Taking into account the quality of materials used, the craftsmanship and the beautiful, timeless design, the answer is an absolute YES. We believe Spinnaker makes some of the best affordable diving watches out there. Reliable, sturdy, built to last, and last but not least, good looking.
