Dial
Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba
The center of the Khaki Navy Scuba’s dial features a brighter blue color, while the outer edge fades into a darker shade, creating a smooth contrast and adding depth to the design. The white hour indices provide great visibility. Additionally, towards the center of the dial, the hours are displayed in military time format. The inclusion of a red tip on the second hand, along with the hour and minute sword hands, imparts a sense of dynamism and seriousness to the Khaki Navy Scuba.
Tissot Seastar 1000
The color of the dial is similar to the Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba, as we have a brighter blue towards the center of the dial that gets gradually darker towards the edges. The dial itself is less crowded, as the Tissot doesn’t have the military hours displayed. To counterbalance the negative space, Tissot is using thicker pencil hour and minute hands to provide the visual weight towards the center of the dial. The date window is located at the 6 o’clock position.

The unidirectional bezel on the Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba exhibits a classic design commonly seen on dive watches, known as the count-up bezel. This bezel is engraved with a 60-minute scale, traditionally utilized by divers to track their time underwater.
Tissot Seastar 1000
The Tissot Seastar’s bezel is very similar to the Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba: uni-directional count-up ceramic bezel, with a 60-minute scale engraved. Tissot is using a bigger and bolder font size for the minute markers, making them visually stronger, as our attention isn’t focused on the dial only.
Case
Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba
The brushed stainless steel case of the Khaki Navy Scuba has a case width of 43 mm, a lug-to-lug distance of 52 mm, and a lug width of 22 mm. The thickness of the watch is 12.53 mm. It offers an impressive water resistance of up to 300 meters (30 bars), which is supported by the screw-down crown.
Tissot Seastar 1000
Tissot Seastar 1000 is also 43 mm in width, however, the lug-to-lug distance is 49.6 mm, therefore slightly better for smaller wrists than the Hamilton. The lug width is at 21 mm, and the thickness of the watch is 12.7 mm. One difference is that the caseback is a see-through caseback, giving us a glimpse of the automatic movement.
The Tissot’s 300 meters water resistance is on par with the Hamilton.

The H-10 movement is a reliable three-hand automatic movement that is based on the ETA C07.611 caliber, and provides an impressive power reserve of 80 hours. This is a 25-jewel movement.
Tissot Seastar 1000
Tissot’s automatic movement, the POWERMATIC 80.111 caliber is based on the ETA C07.111. This 23-jewel movement also provides an 80-hour power reserve.
Stainless Steel Bracelet
Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba
The bracelet of the Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba is crafted from brushed stainless steel and adopts the iconic oyster bracelet design, lending it a timeless appeal associated with dive watches. This bracelet design has more of a sporty appearance.
Tissot Seastar 1000
The Tissot Seastar 1000 also comes with a stainless steel oyster bracelet, however, it uses a combination of brushed and satin finishes. While an all brushed stainless steel bracelet is very sporty, Tissot’s solution is to have the center links with a satin finish that provides an interesting touch of elegance.
Summary
Overall, the Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba and the Tissot Seastar 1000 are very similar with a few small differences. They’re both 43 mm wide, however, the lugs have different designs, therefore the Tissot feels like a very round watch, as opposed the Hamilton’s overall look feels like the case is an integral part of the overall appearance.
The movements provide the same 80-hour power reserve, however the Hamilton doesn’t have a date window, and doesn’t have a see-through case back.
The bezel feels more elegant on the Hamilton, as Tissot’s bigger font size makes the bezel more prominent.
The oyster bracelet has the same butterfly clasp, however the design of the links is different as Hamilton has an all brushed stainless steel bracelet, while Tissot is using a brushed and polish finish combination.
